In Oct. 2004 I had the opportunity to visit Lester Hashey's wife in Maine. I could take pictures from his house and with his son Tony I visited the neighborhood were he lived for so many years.

I experienced a tremendous hospitality and received some pictures of Lester, taken in 1944 and in the fifties.

I thank Anna and her son Tony for everything they did for me and for everything they gave to me.

Photo above left: A very young Lester Hashey. I guess the earliest photo that exists.

Photo above right: Lester during his training. Above right: Tony Rubino. (see below)

Left: J.D.Henderson ( †) Middle: John Sheehy and Tony Rubino (far right) who lived in Windham, Ohio. The men on these page must have been very important to Lester. In 1990, Tony Rubino was looking for Lester after many years with the help of the magazine"The Static Line". The photos from the men in a studio are made in Paris 1944.
